Meet the Staff

Jodie
Whitman has been in education for several years including teaching
second grade as well as elementary Music Education and Coordinating and
Directing a summer arts program for Jenks Public Schools. She holds a Bachelors
degree in both Elementary and Music Education. Jodie has completed her Montessori
training, and will be certified upon completion of her internship year. Jodie is
on Maternity Leave from her position as the Director of Lake Hills
Montessori- Tulsa.
Dionne
Kizziar is the Director of Lake Hills
Montessori- Tulsa.

Margie
Jennings, our Primary I Guide, has a Montessori Primary Certification and 12+
years experience in a Montessori classroom. She has been Lead Teacher in
both AMI and AMS schools in the Kansas City area and recently relocated to
Tulsa.
Ashley
Eyres is the Primary I Assistant.
Sally Sue Tobias, our Primary II Guide, has been with Lake Hills
since summer 2006. Sally Sue has a Montessori Primary Certification, B.S. in
Speech, Masters classes in Early Childhood and Library Science. She has 21+ years experience as a
Primary Lead Teacher and 11+ years experience as an administrator and lead teacher for a newly established school. She has been a trainer and evaluator for MMTTC
in Chicago, and has established Godly Play and Catechesis of the Good
Shepherd in Several Montessori School Classrooms.

Naomi Serwanga
, our Pre-Primary Guide,
has 10+ years teaching Montessori. She has a Montessori Primary Certification, B.A. and M.A. in Education with an
emphasis on Child Psychology. Naomi joined Lake Hill Montessori in Spring
2006.

Melissa
Phelan, our Pre-Primary Assistant, grew up in Dallas and has relocated
to Tulsa. Melissa has come to Lake Hills excited to work with our two
year-olds! Melissa joined us in the beginning of 2008.
Cherish
Walker-Smith is one of our School Assistants. She has completed her Montessori
training, and will be certified upon completion of her internship year. Cherish has been a part of Lake Hills Montessori since our
school opened, and has officially joined our staff as of the beginning of
2008.
Erica
McMullen is a School Assistant and offers relief to all our
staff. Erica not only
comes from a large family that has offered several years of child care
experience, but also comes with a degree in Health and Nutrition. She
is incredibly effective with the students and has been at Lake Hills since
October of 2007
Karissa Wagenblatt,
RN BSN
is our on-call nurse. She works on the weekends at St Francis
Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and we get to see her daily
when she brings her oldest son to Sally Sue's class!
Lesley
Jennings
is our Dance Instructor. She
was raised and trained in Oklahoma and holds a
BPA from Oklahoma City University. Since moving back to Oklahoma to raise
her own family, she has choreographed Beauty and the Beast and
Oliver for the Children’s Musical Theater of Bartlesville, choreographs
and teaches dance in vocal music productions at Jenks High School, and
teaches dance at various other private studios and public schools. Lesley
is also the associate artistic director and on the faculty of the Broadway
Theater Dance Workshop in Santa Fe, NM. She has taught theater dance to NYC
public school children for Rosie’s Broadway Kids and National Dance
Institute of NY.
Ann
Abhari
is our yoga instructor. Originally from France, she has
been teaching Yoga for several years and is now adding "Yoga Kids" into her
repertoire. She is using a book called "My daddy is a pretzel" and the
children love it! She also ends her Yoga classes with a sweet surprise!
Scott
Whitman holds a degree in Civil Engineering and is currently a Home
builder here in Tulsa with his company Caprock Homes. Scott has graciously
volunteered to help with Building improvements and maintenance for our
school.
Charles
Pennington is our morning greeter. He is an empty nester/retiree
who doesn’t see his grandkids nearly enough. Charlie looks forward to seeing
all the little smiling faces come in each day. He once thought when he
retired from corporate America he would like to be a school crossing guard,
he thinks this volunteer job is even better!

Cosmo
is a small Shi Tzu that loves to watch the children arrive and depart school
from his window seat in the front office. He is known for his love and
patience with the students here at Lake Hills Montessori and will do tricks
for treats!
