Admission:
At Lake Hills Montessori, we do not discriminate, but encourage racial, ethnic, religious, and economic diversity in our student body. Our acceptance decisions are determined by the degree that our Montessori program can meet the needs of each individual child. We also strive to maintain equilibrium between gender and age level in every classroom in order to create a well-rounded group of children.
Eligibility:
Children must be at least 2 years to be eligible for Young Primary admission. To be eligible for Primary admission, the child must be at least 2 years 9 months old and toilet trained. Siblings of current students and Montessori transfer students receive preference.
School Visits:
We strongly encourage parents to schedule a time to visit the school in order to get a sense of our warm and welcoming environment. We also encourage you to schedule a time to observe the children in the classroom setting so that you may experience the wonderful Montessori learning environment and observe the interactions between teachers and students.
Application:
In order to apply to Lake Hills Montessori, please return a completed Application Form to Lake Hills Montessori.
Interviews:
A teacher will interview every child who would like to be considered for admission into Lake Hills Montessori. You will be contacted by the Director in order to schedule an interview for your child after we receive your completed Application Form and fee. Please note that during the school year we only interview for vacant positions once they become available. Hence if you apply for a position mid-year, you may not be contacted right away for an interview. In addition, parents will be required to observe in the classroom for two hours, one alone and one with your child.
Enrollment & Fees:
After your child’s acceptance, parents must complete, sign and return all enrollment forms to Lake Hills Montessori before your child’s first day of attendance. An Enrollment Fee of $200, which includes a supply fee of $100 is to be paid upon the enrollment of your child.
First Day at School:
You can help prepare your child for his/her first day at school by engaging in discussion with your child about his/her new classroom, new teacher, new friends, and all of the fun things that your child will do at Lake Hills Montessori. Please arrive between 8:00 and 8:15 am on the first day. After your child is greeted by the teacher and welcomed into the classroom, please give your child a good-bye kiss and hug , and then depart. It is our experience that children transition easier when the good-bye is kept brief. Although some children will be upset the first time that their parent leaves them at school, they usually settle down shortly after their parents leave. Please feel free to call the Director throughout the day to see how your child is doing.
